Hot trend: Home Elevators

For many it is a necessity to have to use a platform that raises people and things from one level to another. A personal elevator has been seen for many years as a luxury but nowadays it is more than necessary if you live in a building.

Way back in the 1850s and 1860s only the rich could afford this commodity, like in the private residential or high-ceilinged three-story homes. In addition the urban houses, the Frick Mansion in NYC, or the Baltimore estate in Asheville the largest home in the United States at the time, elevators were a must.

Home elevators have become popular trend with universal design, using a method of constructing living spaces that are safer, easier, and more convenient for everyone.

Thus generally speaking, there are three different elevator types:

Hydraulic: this system takes up a lot of space and it is necessary a machine room to hold the mechanics of the lift. This usually is used in new homes where is easier to install.

Traction: known also as machine room-less MRL, as the names implies this not required a separate machine room, this elevator slides with a counterweight.

Pneumatic: this elevator works using a polycarbonate tube with an inner tube. The tube can be installed without a shaft or a machine room, which makes it ideal for a retrofit. Although homemakers can gain some room from the hoses that temporarily removes the tube door.

The taste of the customer varies in the type of elevator they will want, as the real estate agent must select the type of elevator  for all ages and mobility levels.
