With the aim to diversify the economy and merchandise distribution to promote local products in the southern state of Quintana Roo, Laura Fernandez Pineapple, municipal president of Puerto Morelos launched the "Logistics Southeastern Center" project, which it will be located in the industrial park. The idea came from incentivize hoteliers across the country to replace imports with local products and revive the project to make Puerto Moleros a distributor of goods center outward as it raised the Dragon Mart, but now will be with Mexican capitalize this investment coupled with the 14 free trade agreements that Mexico has signed.
This logistics center will be the first of five that arise opening across the country. The project was presented in Cancun by Elena Achar head of Sector Coordination Unit, which was attended Carlos Joaquin Gonzales and Moises Mann, primary development investor who also owns major industrial parks in Mexico.
The project has the support of the federal government and will have a private investment of $ 250 million. All this would be only the first stage of the ambitious project.
The second stage consists according to Manuel Salinas, coordinator of Pangea and representative of E group in Quintana Roo; to rehabilitate the port of Puerto Morelos as a center of maritime exports to several areas of the continent, all this respecting environmental standards that exist and thus to enable the port for docking and cargo ships loading and unloading of containers.
